This manual documents many of the treatment procedures used in the General Collections Conservation (GCC) Lab of the Indiana University Libraries, Bloomington. It is a resource for staff who are responsible for the remedial care of the Libraries' research book collections. We share it on the Web for others who are, or wish to become, responsible for the preservation of library or personal collections. Each treatment can be downloaded and printed as "Adobe PDF" using your browser's print dialogue box. The original text and images were prepared by Garry Harrison, Head of General Collections Conservation from 2000 to 2012. The web site was given a new look in 2016, and content has been updated to reflect changes to our procedures.
